Dr Tatjana Šljapić-Rothwein was born in Serbia where she earned a medical degree at the University of Novi Sad.
She completed internal medicine residency at Medical College of Pennsylvania . Thereafter, she became involved in research projects at Northwestern University in Chicago.
She did her fellowship in cardiology-electrophysiology at Lankenau Hospital ( which is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University) , receiving the prestigeous John J. Kelly Fellowship Award as the best fellow of the year.
Dr Tatjana Šljapić-Rothwein was the nation’s top implanter of Medtronic ICD’s Virtuoso in 2006/2007. She does over 800 invasive electrophysiology procedures on the annual basis and is activly involved in research in area of new ablation technologies and tachy-brady devices.
Currently, she works at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York city. She is the member of cardiology group that has been ranked as 6th in the US for it’s quality of service.
She is the author of the chapter about antiarrhythmic drugs in a book “ Cardiovascular pharmacotherapeutics”
Mother of four: Nicholas, William, Ashley and Sophie.

Dr Tatjana Šljapić-Rothwein je rodjena u Novom Sadu gde 1992. godine završava Medicinski fakultet kao jedan od studenata generacije, sa prosekom 9,91.
Odlazi u SAD, gde završava specijalizaciju interne medicine na “Medical college of Pennsylvania”, nakon čega se posvećuje naučno-istraživačkom radu na “Northwestern University” u Čikagu.
Subspecijalizaciju iz kardiologije-aritmologije obavlja u “Lankenau Hospital”, koja je deo sistema “ Thomas Jefferson University” u Filadelfiji. U tom periodu postaje dobitnik prestižne nagrade “John J. Kelly Fellowship Award” kao najbolji subspecijalizant.
Trenutno je zaposlena u Mount Sinai Hospital u Njujorku. Deo je kardiološkog tima koji je rangiran kao 6. u SAD po kvalitetu pružanja kardioloških usluga.
Od 2024-te godine, je deo Shore Heart Group u New Jersey-u
Dr Tatjana Šljapić-Rothwein je kardiolog-aritmolog sa najvećim brojem uradjenih intervencija ugradnje Medtronic defibrilatora Virtuoso u SAD u 2006/2007. godini (videti link). Na godišnjem nivou uradi preko 800 invazivnih ritmoloških procedura.
Vrlo je aktivna u naučno-istraživačkom radu u oblasti novih tehnika radiofrekventne ablacije, pejsmekera, implantabilnih defibrilatora i resinhronizacione terapije.
Autor je poglavlja o antiaritmijskim lekovima u knjizi “Cardiovascular pharmacotherapeutics”
