Dr Tatjana Šljapić-Rothwein was born in Serbia where she earned a medical degree at the University of Novi Sad.
She completed internal medicine residency at Medical College of Pennsylvania . Thereafter, she became involved in research projects at Northwestern University in Chicago.
She did her fellowship in cardiology-electrophysiology at Lankenau Hospital ( which is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University) , receiving the prestigeous John J. Kelly Fellowship Award as the best fellow of the year.
Dr Tatjana Šljapić-Rothwein was the nation’s top implanter of Medtronic ICD’s Virtuoso in 2006/2007. She does over 800 invasive electrophysiology procedures on the annual basis and is activly involved in research in area of new ablation technologies and tachy-brady devices.
Currently, she works at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York city. She is the member of cardiology group that has been ranked as 6th in the US for it’s quality of service.
She is the author of the chapter about antiarrhythmic drugs in a book “ Cardiovascular pharmacotherapeutics”
Mother of four: Nicholas, William, Ashley and Sophie.
